If you would like to know more about Puerto Vallarta, where this restaurant is, check out:

They are open 7 days a week.

From Monday to Saturday you can get serenaded by mariachis from 7:30pm- 11:00pm.

On Sundays, the mariachis play for you from 5:00pm- 9:00pm.

They often play a half an hour set, then take a 15-20 minute break and it continues like that for the night.

Who are they?

Mariachi Oro de PV

The mariachi was called Mariachi Oro de Puerto Vallarta. There are 8 musicians in the band who are all Mexican.

There are 2 women and 6 men.  Many of them take turns singing different songs, and of course, sometimes they are all singing together.

They are very friendly and fun people!

There are some member that speak English in the group as well.

They are a newer mariachi group that was created formally and specifically to play at Casa Guadalajara Bar & Grill.

UPDATE! There is now a new group playing at Casa Guadalajara called Mariachi Mexicanisimo PV.  They are a 5 piece group with a female and male singers.

How much does it cost to see the mariachi band?

Watching the mariachi band is free and there is no cover to enter.

The mariachi band has a cup up front and you are welcomed to add a tip, but it is not required.

The restaurant hires the band to play daily, so you only pay for your food and drink that you order.

What is it like at Casa Guadalajara Bar & Grill?

This is a colourful and vibrant restaurant that focuses on having a family-friendly environment.

They want everyone to be happy and comfortable while they are at Casa Guadalajara Bar & Grill!

The family that owns the restaurant has been in the restaurant business for years. I met Carlos Garcia and heard the story about all the restaurant that his father has owned.

In fact, I got to meet his father as he was there as well.  They manage and own Casa Guadalajara Bar & Grill.

Before they lived in Guadalajara, and they wanted to bring the mariachi vibes of Guadalajara to Puerto Vallarta in a dedicated mariachi restaurant!

This is a great place to celebrate birthdays and the mariachis will come to your table and sing the Mexican traditional birthday song ‘Las Mañanitas’.

The birthday person will also receive a desert too with a huge sparkler in it! 🍰

What's the vibe like there?

This restaurant looks so vibrant and energizing! They use many traditional decorations.

They have pinatas hanging from the ceiling and everything. 🪅

It just makes you want to sing and dance! Which they welcome while the mariachis are playing!

They have beautiful murals and art work that captures the traditions of mariachis and Guadalajara as well.

They have a huge picture hanging of the first even mariachi band!

It’s an open concept bar with big openings in the walls, so there is a lot air flow when it’s hot.  They also have ceiling fans too.

This is a restaurant that can accommodate large groups, and special events like celebrating a birthday.

What kind of food & drink do they have?

They have a traditional Mexican menu like mole, fajitas, tacos, ribs, guacamole, and much more.

There is a happy hour between 2:00pm to 6:00pm from Monday to Friday.

You can have breakfast there too.  They are opened daily from 8:30am until 12:30pm serving breakfast.

When you are first seated they give you 2 free appetizers.

First, you get chips and salsa when you first get there.  The salsa is, I would say, a medium salsa.  It has a bit of spice, but it’s not crazy spicy.

A free sope at Casa Guadalajara Bar & Grill.

After that, you get a mini sope brought to your table. It’s a nice extra touch, and unique from most other restaurants.

A sope is a thick tortilla with beans, cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion on it.  Sopes can have other toppings, but this is how they are served at Casa Guadalajara Bar & Grill.

Oh, this is fun! If you order guacamole, they will make it beside your table in front of you!

One thing to note, is that they don’t currently have many vegetarian or vegan options at this point.

They have mostly meat dishes at this time. Although, they said they would like to work on this for the future.

What are the mariachi shows like?

Mariachi Oro de PV
Mariachi from Mariachi Oro de PV

The performances are a lot of fun!

When I was there, they started the show off with the Guadalajara mariachi song! How appropriate. 😉

They sing on a stage, but what is nice is that they make it an interactive experience.

Many times the mariachi who is singing will mingle throughout the restaurant, so no matter where you are seated you can still enjoy the mariachis up close.

It’s a great place to go for birthdays!  Celebrate in style and get serenaded!  They come and sing at your tables when while the birthday person receives some birthday cake.

The musicians take turns signing and play a variety of different songs.

You can request songs too! If you’re not too familiar with mariachi music or the names of songs, check out Mariachi Songs To Request so that you will have some songs to request when they come to your table!

The play songs that are romantic, fun, and traditional.

All the songs that they sing are in Spanish.

Where is the mariachi bar located in Puerto Vallarta?

Casa Guadalajara Bar & Grill is located in the neighbourhood of Fluvial at 234 Fluvial Vallarta.

You can take a bus from downtown to the area, then just walk a few blocks and you’re there.

There is a big horse out front and a big sign about mariachis, so you can’t miss it!

They have some limited parking out front for guests, so I would recommend getting there early if you would like one of those parking spots.

If you would like more information about getting around Puerto Vallarta and Puerto Vallarta in general, check out the Complete Guide to Puerto Vallarta.

I have marked the restaurant on this map, as well as some other places that I recommend.

You can also use this interactive map to check out hotels and book your hotel in advance.

Why should I leave downtown to go to this bar?

It takes less them 15 minutes to get there by bus, and is even quicker by taxi.

It’s a dedicated mariachi restaurant, where you don’t have to pay per song to see mariachis.

Any day of the week that you want, you can enjoy mariachis while you eat!

Another nice point is that Mariachi Oro de PV don’t just play 3 or 4 songs then leave.

They play for hours, taking breaks between sets.

If you’re wondering about mariachis downtown, check out the Ultimate Guide to Puerto Vallarta Boardwalk.

What do Mariachi Oro de PV sound like?

Although they are no longer at this restaurant, they are still a mariachi band playing in Puerto Vallarta, so I am keeping their videos here as they are still relevant in Puerto Vallarta. Here is another video to enjoy Mariachi Oro de PV.
