You can even have little caterpillars crawl on your hand as you can ask questions.. a truly interactive experience.
After that, you hear about the rules of the sanctuary. Those rules are that you must stay on the path and not touch the plants and the butterflies by the wings.

Enjoying the Butterfly Sanctuary
In my opinion, the butterfly sanctuary in Puerto Vallarta is a nice break from the busy downtown area.
It’s away from cars, lots of people and surrounded by nature.
It is a relaxing and chilled tour. It’s a very quiet area, all you can hear is nature around you!
The groups for the tours are small and not too busy.
You will see lots of nature around and in the sanctuary such as chachalacas, lizards, geckos, birds, ducks and, of course, butterflies.
If you’re looking for a tour that’s not a party and to connect with nature in a relaxed way then this is it!
Tips for the Butterfly Sanctuary
I would recommend going early in the day as the sun is not right above you and it is a bit cooler.
I would also recommend wearing sun protection and a hat and sunglasses.
Don’t forget to bring Mexican pesos. It’s cash only. I recommend bringing smaller bills in case you want to buy some water or souvenirs.
Speaking of water, it’s a good idea to bring some.
Another recommendation is to take a cab or driver service there.
Enjoy taking the time to slow down and be at peace in nature among the butterflies! 🙂
