I have marked some of the places on this map for you to check out. Also, you can compare and review hotels, then book here too.
Skylon Tower
The Skylon tower is a great way to have a romantic evening!
First of all- the view!!
You can take the elevator to the top and walk 360 degrees around the tower to get a view of the city, the Niagara Falls, the SkyWheel and everything else.
No matter what time of the day or night, or which season, the view is sure to delight!
Besides walking around on the observation deck, you can also make a reservation at the Niagara Falls Revolving Restaurant.
You will dine at the top of the Skylon Tower and have a classy and romantic dinner while the tower slowly spins.
To be exact, you will start with 1 view and 1 hour later the same view will return. It takes 1 hour to complete a whole spin of the tower, so you will get every view possible while you enjoy a romantic dinner.
Imagine dining with a bottle of local Niagara wine and a view of the Niagara Falls out your window!
Good news! When you are going to dine at the restaurant you don’t have to pay the admission to ride the elevator to the top and you can still go to the observation deck too!
You can make your reservation here.
TIP: Be sure to reserve early so that you get a table by the window as opposed to a table far away from the window. This way you have a great view from your seat the whole time!
Vegan and vegetarian friendly options are available.
There is a lunch and dinner service with different menus for each time.
Also, they have an early and late dinner schedule as well.
I personally recommend the late dinner option. You can see the city lights plus the illumination of the Niagara Falls.
If that wasn’t enough, you can also catch the fireworks from your view during the winter months too. Check online for the exact schedule.
The Skylon Tower is located at 5200 Robinson Street.
SkyWheel
The SkyWheel is another romantic Niagara Falls Activity that I consider a must!
You will have a wonderful view of Clifton Hill, The Niagara Falls, The Go Kart Racing, Dinosaurs and volcano from the mini golf and much more. There are large glass walls all around, so you can see in all directions!
Whether you choose day time or night time with all the city lights; it’s great either way.
The SkyWheel will stop at different times to let people on and off. So you will be stopped 175 feet above the ground to enjoy the view at a certain point.
Imagine the special moments you can have while you’re stopped at the top of the SkyWheel… proposals and other romantic moments.
If you’re worried about going when the weather is very hot or cold – it’s not an issue.
Each gondola has heating and air conditioning so that you can focus on romance rather than keeping warm or sweating.
To see the hours and buy tickets check out the SkyWheel website.
There is also a kiosk just in front of the SkyWheel where you can buy tickets too.
The SkyWheel is located at 4960 Clifton Hill. You really can’t miss it! You can see the SkyWheel from afar in all directions!
Niagara Cruises
This is your chance to get up close to the Niagara Falls and feel the mist so much that you need a rain poncho – which they provide to you.
You will go by the American Falls and to the main attraction the Horseshoe Falls.
I would say that this is one of the absolute most popular activities for people to do who visit Niagara Falls.
This is the way that you can get the closest to the Niagara Falls as possible!
You will feel the mist so strong that it will feel like rain! I recommend wearing your rain poncho that they give you. Wearing the hood will help keep your hair style, otherwise your hair will get quite wet!
You can get to Niagara City Cruises at 5920 Niagara Parkway. From there you pay and go down some stairs to the boat as shown in the picture.
You get your red poncho and board the boat!
Try to get your photo with the rainbow by the Falls!
The hours vary by the season, so check with Niagara City Cruises to make sure that it’s opened when you would like to go on the boat.
TIP: I recommend buying the Falls Fireworks Cruise! There is music onboard this 40-minute cruise that takes you close to the illuminated Falls with fireworks over head! Amazing! * Fireworks are weather permitting!
Whirlpool AeroCar
Here is your chance to take a slow ride across the Niagara Gorge!
You will cross above the rapids and whirling water, leave Canada and return all in ride!
The Aerocar crosses the international border into the United States of America, then back into Canada a total of 4 times!
Don’t worry – you don’t need to bring your passport!
When you are on the other side of the Niagara Gorge you are back in Canada.
You will travel 3500 feet, which is 1066 meters, from one side to the other in an antique cable car.
The hours also vary depending on the season and weather, so check the WhirlPool Aero Car to make sure they will be opened when you want to go.
You can get to the Aerocar at 3850 Niagara Parkway. There is a parking lot there and a gift shop too.
Hotel with a View
In Niagara Falls there are some romantic and elegant hotels!
I will list a few here that can offer a view of the Niagara Falls for you.
Hilton Niagara Falls/ Fallsview Hotel and Suites
Romantic Dinner in Niagara Falls
A romantic dinner is one of the ultimate ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day, anniversaries, honeymoons, and any type of celebration or special day.
In Niagara Falls there is no shortage of great restaurants!
There are also lots of fancy and romantic restaurants too!
I recommend making a reservation to make sure that you get the time and location that you want.
If you’re looking for a restaurant with a view, I would choose Table Rock Restaurant and Queenston Heights Restaurant for great views of the Niagara Falls.
As I have mentioned the Skylon Tower Revolving Restaurant has a wonderful view that changes while you dine!
There is also the Sky Fallsview Steakhouse which also has an amazing view of the Niagara Falls!
Some other elegant and romantic places to eat and have a romantic night out in Niagara Falls are:
Of course, you could also leave downtown Niagara Falls and dine at a Niagara Winery too.
Some examples of wineries where you can have a romantic dinner are:
,
Niagara Parks Floral Showhouse
Another romantic Niagara Falls activity is the Niagara Parks Floral Showhouse. It’s actually more than 1 house. It is botanical gardens with plants and flowers in different areas.
They have an orchid and tropical plant exhibition that you can visit year round.
You don’t need a reservation or to buy tickets in advance, but you can.
At the Niagara Parks Floral Showhouse you can mingle hand in hand for a romantic stroll through colourful flowers and plants.
You can get to this beautiful showhouse at 7145 Niagara Parkway.
The hours vary depending on the season and if there is a special seasonal, holiday or other show, so check the hours with the Niagara Falls Floral Showhouse.
They also have some special displays at certain times of year too.
Warm up in the Butterfly Conservatory
I absolutely love going to the Butterfly Conservatory, especially in the winter!
This is because it feels so warm and tropical inside!
This is a beautiful and romantic place to spend time together!
You can take photos at different photo ops such as beautiful benches and with flowers as a background.
TIP: When you go to the Butterfly Conservatory leave your heavy jacket or sweater in the car. It can feel a bit humid in the conservatory.
Bird Kingdom
Bird Kingdom is awesome!
It’s actually coined as the “World’s Largest Free-Flying Indoor Aviary”!
It’s full of tropical birds flying around, but there are also night flyers like owls and even bats!
Even more than that, you will see other animals like frogs, lizards, turtles and more.
You will wander around while the birds are landing on decor and trees and flying all around.
Be prepared to be surrounded by colour and vibrancy and to get some great photos together!
Bird Kingdom is at 5651 River Rd. It’s about a 5- 10 minute walk from Clifton Hill.
Wander off to wineries
The Niagara region is famous for its wine.
No matter what kind of wine you want, you can find it locally made in Niagara!
There is a huge list of wineries that you can visit at the Niagara Falls Wineries.
Each winery is different from the other.
Some have restaurants, some have some special events, gift shops, outdoor seating, games and more so check out some of the variety to see what’s best for your romantic day or night.
Ice wines are a specialty in the Niagara Region. There is even an Ice wine festival that happens every winter.
I would recommend ice wine with a nice dessert!
Helicopter over the Niagara Falls
What an epic story: I helicoptered over the Niagara Falls!
What is nice about this activity is that you don’t get wet from the Falls and it’s more intimate than a boat ride as there can only be 7 passengers on board.
Would you believe there are weddings that happen above Niagara Falls in the helicopter!
The classic tour lasts for about 9-12 minutes and takes you and your partner over the Niagara Gorge, Niagara Falls, the river rapids and the Rainbow Bridge.
You can check the hours here Niagara Helicopters.
The helicopter only flies during the day and weather permitting. It’s first come, first served for having your turn to ride the helicopter.
You go to 3731 Victoria Avenue to board the helicopter.
Horse and Carriage Ride in Niagara-On-The-Lake
Take a 20-30 minute drive to Niagara-On-The-Lake for a horse and carriage ride around a beautiful and historical downtown with Sentineal Carriages.
Niagara-On-The-Lake is a small town full of old buildings and cute shops. There is also a very nice park and hiking trails too.
While you’re there, Niagara-On-The-Lake is a great town to walk around and enjoy.
I recommend checking out the Prince of Wales Hotel!
It is so elegant and beautiful! This is where you can take the horse and carriage ride too!
The South Landing Inn is a beautiful hotel!
The Riverbend Inn & Vineyard is also a romantic place to stay with a private vineyard!
Enjoy the excitement of the casino
You can head to 2 different casinos while in Niagara Falls.
Yes, you can test your luck on the slots and games, but there is more to the casino than that.
You can dine, lounge at the bar, check out a band or performance and mingle around.
Both casinos are opened 24 hours and have lots of chances for you to play different games.
The newer casino is Fallsview Casino and the other is Casino Niagara. If you’re looking for a more classy or romantic dinner, I would choose Fallsview Casino.
Stroll along the Niagara Falls
Take a romantic stroll along Niagara River Parkway.
There are advantages of walking during the day and night.
For example, if you walk during the day, you can see the mist and it often makes a beautiful rainbow over the falls!
It makes for some great photos or you and your loved one with a rainbow and the Niagara Falls in the background.
If you walk at night, you will see the city lights and the SkyWheel all lit up.
There is also the illumination of the Falls where different colour lights are lighting up the Falls.
