Looking for a hotel in Huatulco?

If you’re planning a trip to Huatulco, Oaxaca, Mexico, check out – Hotel Bahia Huatulco!

This travel blog is about a Huatulco hotel review!

Location, cleanliness, hotel decor & atmosphere, amenities and perks! These are some factors that I think are important, what about you?  Hotel Bahia Huatulco checked off a lot of my boxes!

I really enjoyed my time at Hotel Bahia Huatulco, so I want to share it with you!

Hotel Bahia Huatulco is a middle-sized hotel with 3 floors and 25 rooms.

The Manager, Victor Hugo Mtz. Orozco, met with me to talk about the hotel.  Victor has been the manager since the hotel opened 14 years ago!

Location

You can use this booking.com widget to book your hotel stay.

Location is definitely important, sometimes the hotels in good locations sell out first, so feel free to use this widget above to check for and book your hotels in awesome locations!

What I really like about Hotel Bahia Huatulco is that you can walk to so many things from there.

You can get to a chill beach in a 5 minute walk.  It’s called Playa Chahue.  There is a nice pier that you walk on and take some great sunset shots!  There is also a marina right by the beach there.

I feel like Hotel Bahia Huatulco is kinda in the middle of everything.

It’s not in the hotel zone, it’s closer to downtown than the hotel zone hotels.  I like that, not just a huge tourist area, some hotels in the area for sure, but smaller.

I like that Hotel Bahia Huatulco is not a huge 10 or 20 story building.

There are only 3 floors and 25 rooms.

You can walk in 15 minutes to the downtown square with tons of restaurants and bars.

You can also walk to the beach – Playa Santa Cruz in 15 minutes.

This beach is very nice, it’s not too big, but there are a variety of restaurants there, including one that you get discounts at if you’re a hotel guest!

There is also this fun photo op next to the hotel from the neighbouring restaurant/bar.

Also, the beautiful art work displayed in the hotel!

Here is a map of Huatulco where you can get to know the area and check out this hotel and others to book the perfect hotel for your stay in Hautulco.

There is also a grocery store and other stores about a 5 minute walk away!

There is even this cute little outdoor Canadian hamburger bar practically across the street from the hotel!

Another good point is that, this hotel is off of a principal through street, it’s not busy or loud, but it will lead to different beaches and places easily. It’s called Benito Juarez Boulevard.

In terms of getting there it’s about 20 minutes from the airport and 5 minutes from the bus station.

Convenience

Besides the location, there’s other factors that make Hotel Bahia Huatulco recommendable!

There’s free parking right at the hotel, which is so convenient if you’re road tripping!

Some other factors that, for me, make it convenient are:

  • 24 hour reception
  • Free Wi-Fi that is good quality
  • A safe in your room
  • Cable TV
  • if needed, you can pay for laundry or babysitting services
  • There’s a currency exchange area too!
  • Daily room cleaning with shampoo, cream, soaps, towels and 2 bottles of water per day

There’s also air conditioning and a fan in each room.

Each room also has a balcony, which is so nice!  I loved chilling on my balcony looking at the palm trees and feeling the warm air!

One note, is that some of the rooms do not have a fridge, so make sure you check if that is important to you.

There are rooms that require you to walk up stairs, but there are also rooms that are wheelchair accessible too.

Even if you have to go upstairs, it only makes the view better and it’s only 3 flights.

Beautiful!

What I loved the most about this hotel is how beautiful and comfortable it is!

There are talavera sinks and bathroom decor.  There are beautifully-tiled floors and nice little side tables besides the beds with tiles.

There are cute balconies that you can sit on with your chair and chill.

All of the beds have nicely-coloured blankets and large king size beds.

The headboard of my room was a huge golden shell!

Even more, the bed and pillows were soft and comfortable too!

Each hotel room is named after places in Huatulco, such as the names of bays or beaches.   They are nice talavera signs with the hotel room names outside of the hallway or door.

They offer a lot of seafood dishes and others as well.  When I went there, there was a musician playing guitar and singing some nice songs!  The restaurant is called Restaurant Macuil.

There is a breakfast buffet at Hotel Villa Blanca, that this hotel partners with.

Guests of Hotel Bahia Huatulco are invited to this buffet, that is only a 4 minute walk away.
